As the prime contractor, Accel provided technical management and leadership to USDA and their partner organizations by:

  • Gathering and developing functional user requirements, technical requirements and evaluation of technical platforms in order to modernize the ARS’s National Nutrient Database.
  • As a trusted advisor, Accel assisted the technical development of the system by providing key leadership in platform determination, database design, selection of technical staff provided by USDA partners and coordination between three USDA laboratories.
  • Accel brokered the technical solution within USDA by negotiating requirements within USDA and their supporting IT service providers. Once agreements were complete, Accel implemented the technical solution by leading and coordinating USDA personnel to complete the technical solution.
  • As this contract progressed, Accel provided detailed technical leadership in all phases to USDA partners as they delivered the solution.
  • Accel managed the transition to the new application and database and provided training documentation to end users.
